I'm running VirtualBox 3.2.4 on a Windows 7 x64 host - Xeon X3440 with 8GB of RAM.
I have a Windows Vista 32 guest (assigned 1 CPU, 1.5GB RAM) which frequently freezes for 30-60 seconds. It doesn't seem to freeze when idle, only when I'm doing things. I can still move the mouse cursor when it freezes, but can't do anything and video doesn't update. When it freezes, I get the following in the VirtualBox logs:

I should note that I also have a Ubuntu guest which doesn't exhibit the freezing issue.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? The Vista guest is unusable in it's current state of frequent freezing. Thanks.

Re: Guest freezing frequently
Sounds like a problem with the async feature they added for writing VDI files. Do you have I/O Cache enabled or disabled? Try the other setting than what you have now.

Re: Guest freezing frequently
Thanks Sasquatch. I disabled host I/O caching and I haven't been able to recreate the problem in 5 minutes of hard testing (it was very easy to create the problem before). I won't get a chance to use the Guest VM for an extended period for another couple days, but so far so good. Thanks again.
