installation failed error 123

my pc's os is windows 7
vbox version 3.1.8 is installed perfectly,
but 3.2.0 & 3.2.2 are can't be installed, show this message 'installation failed! error 123'



how can i solve this problem?
please help me.

You can try to uninstall the first version and then install the new version.

What is the exact version number of the latest VirtualBox? Is it Version 3.2.2-62321?
Also it would help me to know the exact error as stated (complete) and whether you can install the older version and if it works.
Short answers and lack of information makes it hard to diagnose.

Also you can try something else. Right click on the install and then left click on install as admin and see if it will proceed.

version 3.2.2 is shown error message
i excuted set up file, just i can look this message.
same problem at version 3.2.0


version 3.1.8 install completly




what's more information for need to solve?
i excuted to use UAC.

OK so you can use 3.1.8 but it give you an error when updating. Stay on 3.1.8 and file a ticket at bugtracker.
I have seen 2 of these so far and the DEVs are looking into it but they are going to need some time, plus this is a weekend.

I solved this problem.

Maybe 3.2 versions has a some bug for non-English user name.

Virtualbox's installer is runed on "c:\Users\<UserID>\AppData" [On VISTA and win7 ]

But, it can not understand non-English UserID.

The solution is very easy.

1. Use guest account
or
2. change your UserID to English name
