The other alternative is to start VBoxHeadless from the VirtualBox Manager GUI, by holding the Shift key when starting a virtual machine.

Just an excerpt from Ch. 7.1.2. You should read it all to see what other available options you have.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Fantastic software - Great Job I just love it. The biggest bonus for me was that its saves state when the host is shut down. Cant thank you enough.

Re: VBoxHeadlessTray - free utility to run VMs in Windows tr
This sounds like a great way to manage the running of the VBox. I'd like to use it. My only problem is my router is not letting me download it because it has a Trojen.
This is the message I get when I try to download it:
"This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus Service. Name: (Cloud Id: 2030655) Agent.ARC (Trojan)"
Thanks,
Docfxit

This is currently falling over in 5.1 Beta 2 (GitHub issue), in case anyone using this is planning to try the beta out and relies on this.
