Hi all,

I have virtualbox on windows xp which guest os is Debian, when I install Guest additions, I can not found the VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run in the iso. There are only one fold(OS2) and one file ReadMe.txt in the ISO file.

Anybody met the same problem or know the solution?

When I open the iso file using winzip from host I can see the files really inside. But can not find them in the virturalbox.

Thanks a lot.

Have you tried enabling viewing of hidden files?

Still can not, I have installed the build-essential linux-headers-generic.

But when I mount the additions iso, there some error message. I am not sure whether this is the reason.

I used vb3.1.2 r56127.

Anyone using this version?

Thanks

What is the error you are getting?

When I umount debian-live-503-i386-rescue.iso(the guest os iso), it says "VFS: busy inodes on changed mdedia"

then I choose the additions iso from Devices/CD Dvd Devies.
run mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

I got

SQUASHF error: zlib_inflate returned unexpected result 0Xfffffffd, srclength 131072, avail_in 957, avail_out 131072
SQUASHF error: sb_bread failed reading block 0X6823
SQUASHF error: unable to read page, block 19fd441, size bb9f

This error message repeated a few time.

When I use mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom, no error message, but the result(only one fold and one file shown in the /mnt/cdrom) is the same.

I tried in two computer, one host runs winxp another runs vista, the same on both computer.

I installed ubuntu guest, get the same problem.

Downgrade vb to 3.1.0, same.

When I umount cdrom got
umount: /live/image: device is busy
umount: /live/image: device is busy

fuser -k /media/disk does not help.

lsof|grep /live/image

shows
lsof: WARNING: can't start() squashfs file system /filesyste.squashfs
Output information maybe incomplete.

Try shutting down the guest OS, then go into settings and make sure that nothing is mounted as a CD device. Then boot up and try again. It worked for me.
