What I need to know is *why* the box locks up when I am logged on, or am trying to log on to my bank's secure siite

Re: How secure is VirtualBox for safe surfing?
Let me be more specific. When the box is in the state I describe it is not possible to:
"Use normal Windows shut-down operation from Start menu or select "Send the shutdown signal" if you close with click on "x" on VirtualBox."
I cannot use the normal Windows shut-down operation because the box is not accepting input from the keyboard or the mouse. When I press a key or click the mouse, nothing happens. I can send the shutdown signal to my heart's content and nothing happens. This is what I mean by "locked up".

ffoulks, OK, "locked up" means guest freezes! Please post a new post of this problem in separate thread. This thread is about "safe surfing" with VirtualBox. The general forum's rule: one problem one thread.
