opensuse stalls on install?

I'm trying to install opensuse on a virtualbox virtual machine. However everytime i try to install it it stalls (usually while installing compat-2007.4.18-31.i586.rpm). The window freezes up and when i click into the window, and move the mose the cursor in the virtual machine does not recognize my

I just tried installing ubuntu gutsy gibbon (7.10) and it stalls at 5% Partitions formating... I'll try to uninstall/reinstall virtualbox and see if it works
