[VBox 3.0.0] Ubuntu 9.04 Guest -- Compiz Effects

Post by TVT »

Hi!

I've just upgraded to VBox 3.0.0 and run into following difficulties when enable Compiz effects:

-- pure desktop performence (I've got 3D acceleration enabled):
Effects are much slower and sometimes leave tracks on the desktop that disappear
when clicking on desktop. It's not so easy now to choose proper menu item precisely.

-- difficulties when waching videos:
I'm using VLC to view videos. Everything was alright before but now video freezes when player
window in foregroung though when switched from foreground video is played back OK.

-- when logged in unable view content of text terminals:
From login screen I can switch to text terminals (Ctrl-Alt-F1 to Ctrl-Alt-F6) without a problem but
when I login and switch to a text terminal its contents is not displayed (just not repainted).

So I may ask a question "Is VBox video driver compatible with Compiz?".
