Specs issue: no, settings issue: yes. Check the VirtualBox FAQ. Please, search next time, asked a zillion times already. If you mainboard doesn't have it enabled, you can't use it.

Oh, so trusting the settings is a valid point now? Geeh, I wonder, does my AMD-FX60, or even my older AMD 3500+, socket 939, have AMD-V? VB says it's enabled, but I don't see anything for it in my BIOS.
If you don't see it in your BIOS, you mainboard doesn't support it, thus you can't run 64 bit Guests. As I said, asked a zillion times. Really, check things more thoroughly before stating otherwise.

Thats not completly true. I have no setting in the bios. But my AMD X2 4200 has VT and i can run / install 64 Bit Guests.

No chance. Every Bios has another structure.

If there is no setting like VT, then check VMWARE Homepage. There is a 64 Bit Check Utility.

Lucky you. But in general, you don't have that option available to you. It really depends on the mainboard though. It's possible it's hard coded in the BIOS to enable it for you.
But in this case, he doesn't have it, so he can't run 64 bit Guests.

So? My laptop has a T2300, also VT-x capable, but still not accessible by VB. Why? They put in a crappy, cheapass mainboard that has no idea about anything other than that 1 + 1 = 2. Get yourself some better equipment, or let it go and run 32 bit.

Maybe not, but it's also possible they just didn't add support for it in either the chipset, or BIOS. You can always contact the manufacturer and ask how to get it working, or add support for it because you paid so much for it.
