Re: Win 7 Install Problem
I had a similar problem installing Win7RC (Build 7100) 32 Bitmindshaker wrote:hi.

My installation was successful when specifying 1498 MB main memory for the guest.

So it seems there is a problem with the amount of allocated memory.

Re: Win 7 Install Problem
I have probaly the same problem reported yesterday.

Its hard that Win7 breaks the whole system and not only the Guest. I guess VB is not safe against something .

Re: Win 7 Install Problem
Mine went well:
I left default (Mem at 512), changed the video memory to 128meg, turned on PAE, and IO-APIC. Installed easy. GA went smooth too.
Also make sure that this is a new install. Windows 7 does not support trying to upgrade a previous copy of Windows 7

Re: Win 7 Install Problem
Hi,
here my hole system freezes up. I opend a Bug -> http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/3951#preview
I dont upgrade my old win7-Guest, thats runs perfect and i try to install this again - thats works.
System frezzes up with Win7 364bit Iso-image. The 32bit system works perfect.
Could this be a problem with a 32bit Host and a 64bit Guest?

Re: Win 7 Install Problem
Could be. While Vista was not too concerned with the bios VT-x/AMD-v being turned on Win 7 might. I will need to do some more research.hexxer wrote:Hi,

Re: Win 7 Install Problem
I am having this problem too. In my case, I believe that it is caused by the GRUB boot loader on my physical hard disk. This is something I have seen a lot when installing Windows on systems that were Linux. Though this doesn't make sense completely since I'd assume VB doesn't access the physical hard drive.

Re: Win 7 Install Problem
I think I had to try to install 3 times for success. Firt time froze second time memory error and third time install success (though compared to the earliar beta this is alot slower to react than before)
I was so into trying the corner snap but even with 1500mb it was a horrible choppy first experience.
If we're grumy imagine the retail testers if they have a similar copy to us
