Win XP x64 Core2Duo and new machine x64?

Post by IrfCore »

Hello!

I have XP x64 and I installed the VirtualBox 1.5.0 for Windows hosts AMD64

1 It seems to work perfectly on Core2Duo, safe to use with Core2Duo?

2 When creating new virtual machine, Win XP x64 isn't on the list, what to choose?

3 Can I run 32 bit virtual machines on my XP x64?

Windows XP x64 is _not_ a supported OS.

The pdf manual currently says as of Virtualbox 1.5 Windows 64bit hosts are supported, but no 64bit guests. And yes you can run 32bit guests.

So the programmers just forgot to add in the list?

No 64bit Windows guests. The guest is the operating system you are 'virtualizing.'

Vmware can do 64bit guests, so I'm sure it will come with virtualbox with time.
