usb-modem-device does not work on the guest system

Post by Mampf »

Hostsystem: Windows XP
Guestsystem: Windows XP

We want to use an usb-modem with the guestsystem. but its not available. the entry to activate it is disabled. why? in the devicemanager on the host the virtualbox usb device is not rechrognized and not active. why? the usb-modem is still busy for the host and the virtual box cant grab it for the guestsystem. why? when we uninstall manually the usb-modem on the host and start an rescan for new devices, the virtual box usb-device is appearing and then, the usb-modem we can use in the guestsystem. but thats not usefull. it should work without any manually todos...

can anyone help uns? that would be really nice! greeting from germany, hamburg. thx. simon and günter. ;o)
