Uninstall guest OS

To confirm, you installed Ubuntu as a guest OS on your XP host, and now you want to uninstall the guest OS Ubuntu. If correct, the most complete method is to delete the virtual hard disk you installed Ubuntu on first. This file, visible on your XP, normally has a .vdi file extension. Once this file is deleted, your Ubuntu is gone.

Next, if you downloaded media (e.g. ISO) to install Ubuntu, you may want to delete that also.

Lastly, if you don't need the free virtualization functionality of VBOX anytime soon, you can also uninstall VBOX from the XP uninstall screen.

For details on any of these steps, the VBOX User Manual can be found normally in c:\Program Files\Sun\xVM VirtualBox\doc\ as a file named UserManual.pdf in recent versions.

You also need to remove the VM itself. Select the VM from the GUI, then hit the Remove button.

Now if you will no longer use VB, you can as well skip that part and just remove the .VirtualBox folder in your user profile.
