[ Solved] A big black square on window

Post by Leloup78 »

Bonjour,

Host: Win10
VirtualBox: 7.0.2 r154219 win.amd64
Guess: Kernel: 5.15.0-67-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 11.3.0 Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0
tk: Gtk 3.24.23 wm: xfwm dm: LightDM Distro: Linux Mint 21.1 Vera base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy
VboxAddition: 7.0.2

I just upgraded the Linux guest from version 20.3 to 21.1.
The problem I see is this:
Eratically, on the firefox window, a black square representing about a quarter of the window appears and disappears.
I do not know if it is a problem of the driver emulated by VB or if it is a problem of Linux 21.1 or if it is a problem of firefox.

Do you have any idea?

Regards,
Leloup

Firefox has had some issues running in a Virtualbox VM. See if you can find Firefox's setting to use "hardware video acceleration" or some such name, and turn it off.

Also, you might try upgrading everything Virtualbox to 7.0.6.
