Running RHEL 5.3 guest on a Windows 10 host.
Is there a way to configure the time sync to allow the guest to change the host time? The guest environment in this case acts as a local server for a restricted subnet of devices. The admin needs to be able to change the time within the guest and have that time change propagate to the networked devices. The admin will not generally have access to the underlying Windows host.
Windows is not doing anything else of note besides running the VM.
As far as I can tell, if I enable the time sync, any time changes made within the guest are immediately overridden by the host time.
if I disable the time sync, then I can change the time at will within the VM and everything works as we need, until a service engineer needs to restart the server (a thankfully rare occurrence), at which point the guest OS adopts the host time once again.
Probably unusual timesync question

You can disable time sync in a VM as described in the VirtualBox manual at:
https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/UserM ... letimesync
Make the change when your VM is not running. It will be persistent across reboots of both the host and the VM.
