Hallo,
ich nutze VirtualBox auf einem Windows10-Rechner und habe damit einen virtuellen XP- und einen virtuellen Windows7-Rechner angelegt.
Soweit hat alles geklappt, aber um diese virtuellen Rechner nutzen zu können, stellen sich mir folgende Fragen :

- Wie kopiere ich Dateien zwischen Hostrechner und virtuellem Rechner in VirtualBox ?
- Wie kann ich von den virtuellen Rechnern auf das Internet zugreifen ? (einem der virtuellen Rechner habe z.B. die statische IP-Adresse 192.168.178.85 gegeben, der Rechner ist mit einem LAN-Kabel direkt an der FritzBox angechlossen. )

Hello, I use VirtualBox on a Windows 10 machine and have created a virtual XP and a virtual Windows7 machine.
So far everything has worked out, but in order to be able to use these virtual machines, the following questions arise :

- How do I copy files between host computer and virtual machine in VirtualBox ?

First, install the Guest Additions in the VM. See chapter 4 of the user manual. That will enable shared folders and drag and drop - if the corresponding feature is enabled in the VM settings.

- How can I access the Internet from the virtual machines ? (For example, I gave one of the virtual machines the static IP address 192.168.178.85, the computer is connected directly to the FritzBox with a LAN cable. )

The VM has Internet access by default - you should cancel the static IP assignment. IMO, if you can't get it to work except using static IP addressing then you probably don't understand the process. The default VM mode is NAT, which is the simplest way get Internet access.

That said, the VM having Internet access doesn't necessarily mean that guest OS is capable of using it. For example it can be struggle to find an Internet browser for XP that still works with the modern "https" Internet. Certainly Internet Explorer 6 will not work. This isn't a problem with the hardware, it's a consequence of choosing a 20 year old OS.

Use Virtualbox's NAT connection for the VM's network, as Mpack suggests.
Remove the VM OS's static IP address, so the XP OS gets its IP address from DHCP. It will get a 10.0.2.15 IP address, if all defaults are still in place.
You should be able to successfully ping 8.8.8.8 in the VM. If so, you've just pinged Google, and the VM has internet.
