Hi,
I am getting a crash when launching a kubuntu vm on my fresh win 11.
I am using wsl v1, hyperv was disabled.
I am also using extension pack in order to get usb 3 support. I suspect this one is the culprit.
Getting a null pointer (access 0x0000)
Anyone who can help? Thanks

Re: crash in vb 6.1.36 r152435 (Qt5.6.2)
There are a couple of VM configuration 'issues' you might want to adjust before looking deeper.
I would suggest:
- increase the CPU Cores from 1 to 2; and
- increase the VideoRAM from 33 MB to that maximum 128MB
1 cpu core is unlikely to be enough for a 64-bit OS, particularly if using the KDE Desktop; and 33 MB VRAM is probably insufficient to allow the size/resolution of the desktop display you will probably want/need.
Then re-start the VM and see if the problem is still the same. If there is still a problem, please attach the new vbox.log to your response.

Another thing to try is to temporarily switch the VM to USB 2, while the VM is fully shut down.
Re: crash in vb 6.1.36 r152435 (Qt5.6.2)
thanks guys, but no luck
increased video memory, cpu count, same null error
disabled usb 3, yes, no crash but usb 2 fails to attach my drives (and I do need those drives)
so moved back to usb 3, same null error, here are the new logs
thanks again!

As I already indicated, the issue is known, but there is no bugfix yet. As an alternative to several forum threads, you can also watch 21030 in the Bugtracker.

@fth0 ok, thanks!
Re: crash in vb 6.1.36 r152435 (Qt5.6.2)
to get usb 3.0 (via extension pack) without the crash,
a workaround for me was to downgrade to 6.1.34
I am now using this older version and everything works
VirtualBox-6.1.34a-150636-Win.exe
thanks

This issue should be fixed in the VirtualBox test builds 6.1.39r153816 and newer.
