Win11
VBox 6.1.36
i7-11850H
32 GB Ram
CentOS 8
7 Cores - 100%
20GB Ram
Since I've got a new workstation the VirtualMachine the performance decreased by around 75%
When the VM is showing 100% CPU Load the Host CPU is used around 40%
For comparison the same machine is running perfectly fine with a i7-9700K and a AMD 5950X
So I think the Problem needs to be connected to this CPU.
The little turtle in the bottom right corner says:
Native API
Nested Paging : inactive
unrestricted executions: inactive
On the system that runs well:
VT-x/AMD-V
Nested Paging : active
Unrestricted Execution: active
Ive checked the following hints:/viewtopic.php?t=62339
But currently Im out of ideas since nothing helped.
Virtualization is activated in the bios, Ive deactivated hyper-v....
Ive attached the logs
Virtual Box low performance with i7.11850H
Virtual Box low performance with i7.11850H

Re: Virtual Box low performance with i7.11850H
Something is still using Hyper-V:
See HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).00:00:02.298216 HM: HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available
Re: Virtual Box low performance with i7.11850H
Yes I have seen this issues described pretty well at the following posts:
/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=99390
/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62339
I have executed all the steps. But the machine is still not running in VT-X.
Got one question, should Hardware Data Execution Prevention be enabled or disabled in the bios?
Any chance to get to know what is using hyper-v??

Re: Virtual Box low performance with i7.11850H
Ok, I have done it It is running now with VT-X
I think what made it work was the following:
The other posts are mentioning that you need a clean shutdown.
Since I am using a laptop this clean shutdown, especially unplugging it, seemed tricky.
The battery is also build in, I could not remove it.
So Ive deactivated the battery in the bios and achieved that "unplugging" that way.
And since then, the pretty V Symbol is appearing.
Thanks !!!

Re: Virtual Box low performance with i7.11850H
Very interesting! We've had others that couldn't do the unplug because of a built-in battery. Will ask them to look for the BIOS deactivation switch.PreDer wrote:The battery is also build in, I could not remove it.

Glad you're up and running!
