Hello,
I am using VirtualBox Version 6.1.32 r149290 (Qt5.6.2) on Windows 11. I created a Ubuntu VM a couple of days ago.
Now while using the VM it got idle for a while and on trying unlocking I could not hold the mouse pointer in the password field, somehow it seemed to lose focus from the field as if some other key was pressed from the keyboard but everything worked well outside the VM. So I turned off the VM.
On starting the VM again it is asking me for login which it never asked before. Even though I give the correct login here I am unable to access the VM and the screen is stuck.
Attaching log file and screenshot for reference.
Kindly have a look and suggest fix as I created environment for my project and do now want to lose it otherwise I have to do a lot of setup again.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Can't access Virtualbox
The log shows what appears to be properly working VM 'hardware'. The screenshots show Ubuntu login, which is a sign the VM OS is running.
Video RAM is too low for 3D acceleration being enabled:

This looks like the Ubuntu desktop environment cannot start, either because of too little video RAM, or the VM disk is completely full. Max the video RAM slider, then try again.00:00:02.492977 VRamSize <integer> = 0x0000000001000000 (16 777 216, 16 MB)

I have maxed out the video memory to 256 but it didn't help. Next I also tried switching 3D acceleration off, then tried a combination of both.scottgus1 wrote:The log shows what appears to be properly working VM 'hardware'. The screenshots show Ubuntu login, which is a sign the VM OS is running.

Strange though because it was working very smoothly with 16MB of video memory and #d acceleration on.
I want to stress again on the fact that I did not used to get this login black screen instead on launching the VM I was redirected to Ubuntu textured login screen. Which might indicate that something has changed and that is the root cause of the issue.

Re: Can't access Virtualbox
Yes, you're getting the text-only, no-desktop-environment login, because the desktop is not starting.shubham47 wrote:I did not used to get this login black screen instead on launching the VM I was redirected to Ubuntu textured login screen.
The other thing that can cause this is if the VM's disk fills up. Ubuntu is known to go blackscreen if there is not enough free disk space to start the desktop environment. This happens in real PCs too. The solution is to log on text-only and delete stuff until the desktop environment can start. Web-search how to fix this in an Ubuntu PC and apply the steps to the VM. Re: Can't access Virtualbox
Hey,
It seems like memory could be the issue. It is 98% full.
I am trying to increase it from tools> properties but its not taking effect. Could you please guide me.
Thanks
