monitor passthrough

Post by neghvar »

I have a monitor that connects via displayport. I have a firmware issue with it that I have been working on via ddcutil, a linux command. This was on a different system. That system has been repurposed. My current system runs Windows 10. I have 1 GPU. Is it possible to have the monitor passthrough to a VM with linux so that I do not need another GPU, or even a whole other system?

No, only USB can be passed through. The VM runs in a window (whether actually a window, or fullscreen/seamless, it's all in a 'window' of sorts) on the host's video. The VM cannot take a GPU or monitor from the host.
