I am constantly loosing my mouse and keyboard control to the VM, Log attached.
I paused the VM one it occurred and tried to manually add the keyboard / mouse back in (which has worked in the past) and now that's not fixing it either.
Hope there's something in the log that someone can see
Thank you

Re: Mouse and Keyboard stop working
Thanks for the log! Could you also please post the VM's .vbox file:
Please right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose "Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager". In the window that opens, zip the VM's .vbox file (not the .vbox-prev file), and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab. (Please make sure all file extensions are shown, so you will be able to see the .vbox extension easier.)
How are you doing this:

Thank you, file attached.
To add the keyboard / mouse manually I paused the vm, added them in in the settings and unpaused.

Please clarify more: What settings are you adding to? How are you doing this?Venomouse wrote:added them in in the settings
Re: Mouse and Keyboard stop working
Apologies,
In the main Settings for the VM itself under USB, nothing is listed when I launch the machine.
Eventually The mouse and keyboard stop working, so I Pause the VM, Go to the same USB settings, click the Add new USB Filter and select my Keyboard and Mouse from the list.
I have a feeling this probably didn't do anything and may be more of an anecdotal 'fix'. My memory isn't so great these days

Re: Mouse and Keyboard stop working
OK, thanks for the clarification. Using the USB filter to use the main mouse and keyboard won't work, since USB devices cannot be shared between host and VM using the filters. Putting them in the VM will take them from the host and break Virtualbox.
Please provide another log:
Start the VM. Note the wall clock time.
Run the VM until the Mouse and Keyboard stop working in the VM. Note the wall clock time this happens.
Pause the VM then unpause it.
If the mouse/keyboard starts working again or does not, please note that too.
Shut down the VM, inside the VM OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Zip and post the log.

Re: Mouse and Keyboard stop working
Cheers,
As a side note I made some changes to the VM last night after a bit of ze Google.
Processor set to ICH9 was PIIX3, a few other posts mentioned changing network type to NAT instead of Bridged may help but mine is NAT already.
So far today has been great, no disconnects of USB devices. (no filters in the USB settings page of the VM)
The only other thing I have changed is being able to see the VM Toolbar at the top of the window.
(User Interface all options checked)
If It happens again I'll post another log. Thank you for the help !!
