Bonjour,
At each startup, Linux Mint 20.2 looks for the graphics card driver. So, it spends a lot of time to display the desktop.
The window below appears. When I click on the button, I get a message that everything is well installed.
"Check your drivers
Your system is currently running without video hardware acceleration.
This can result in low performance and high CPU usage
Launch the driver manager"
The configuration is:
VirtualBox 6.1.26
VMSGVA
3D acceleration disabled
If the 3D acceleration is enabled, then screen becomes completely white.
Something is wrong or fails.
Do you have any idea to fix this problem?
Regards
Leloup

Re: LM 20.2 cinnamon display fails
Guest Additions are required in the VM to get good graphics. There are also prerequisites before installing GAs https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02. ... nux-prereq and https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04. ... ions-linux
Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Re: LM 20.2 cinnamon display fails
Please use VirtualBox 6.1.28 and the VirtualBox Guest Additions 6.1.28 in combination with 3D acceleration.
Re: LM 20.2 cinnamon display fails
Bonjour scottgus1
The host is a Win10 with version 20H2 and I don't see it in the list. Are you sure the list is up to date?
Two logs are attached below. One is for 3D acceleration on and one is for 3D acceleration off.

Re: LM 20.2 cinnamon display fails
What you described in your initial post is well-known behavior:
With 3D Acceleration disabled, any Linux Mint guest will display the warning dialog.
With 3D Acceleration enabled, with the combination of VirtualBox 6.1.26 (and older), the Cinnamon desktop environment and the Mesa 27.0.3 package installed, you'll get the white screen. This has been addressed with VirtualBox 6.1.28.

Re: LM 20.2 cinnamon display fails
Thank you to all.
With VirtualBox 6.1.28, 3D acceleration works and I don't get more the driver window.

Leloup
