Linux guestOS does NOT remember display size and keyboard layout

Post by pstein »

I downloaded and installed an MXLinux pre-installed Images and installed it on VirtualBox on Windows Host.

It works. I can start it.

I can even resize Display size to 1680x1050

But after restart the display size is automatically shrinked back to 1366x663

How can I tell MXlinux to remember Display size beyond reboot?

Similarly I switch in the keyboard layout to "german" does not work. Even not in current session.

Why?

Is this a matter of guestOS or an issue in VirtualBox?

Are you sure the VM is booting from the Hard-Drive-installed OS and not a LiveCD?

Otherwise, Start the VM from full power off, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Please right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip the log file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
