Starting an old windows-image chraches

Post by larand54 »

I have an windows10-image that I havn't used for a month or so and today I needed to start it but it chrasches when loading.
I have two other images that works, one is also WIN10 and the other is an UBUNTU-image.

In the log I can se the following message: "CPUM: No hardware-virtualization capability detected".
But this is enabled and as the other VM:s works it should be evident that it is correct or...?

I attached the logfile and hope someone can make a chevk on it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

00:00:04.317316 HM: HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available
00:00:04.382994 NEM: WHvCapabilityCodeHypervisorPresent is TRUE, so this might work...
Hyper-v is enabled.

See HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active)

Incidentally, you should hunt around the forum for configuration tips, since your chosen config is not good. Wrong template, too much RAM and CPU assigned. Even if you fix the NEM issue I doubt it will run (at all and then not well) until you also fix these:
  1. Choose the Windows 10 (64bit) template.
  2. Reduce to 4GB RAM.
  3. Reduce to 2 CPU cores.
  4. Choose the correct graphics chipset (VBoxSVGA).
  5. Install the Guest Additions.
  6. Enable 3D acceleration.

Thank's for a super-fast reply, I've follwed all of your recommendations except for the Guest Addition as it will take some more time.
Ok, now it works but it is very slow in contrast to what it was before. Of course reducing no of CPU: and lower RAM makes it slower but it is a bit to slow.
Maybe the Guest additions will help some...?

Most important that it works, I'll try to improve it later.

Bear in mind that an updated VM log will be required if you resume the discussion. Good on you for remembering to zip the log first time.
