I am new to virtualbox. I am trying to virtualize some existing physical web servers using various Windows OS. I have successfully setup a machine with an existing physical host image. Machine boots fine but I do not understand how to make it connect to the either the local intranet or the WAN. I tried various network settings to no avail. Can someone point me to any in-depth tutorials on this process?
None of the adapter settings transferred and I had to manually configure the machines host adapter. But then I noticed that the host adapter for the vmbox itself was esdtablished on a different subnet. The network does not use DHCP, all of the machines are static ips.
Are there any tutorials online or otherwise that cover this in any detail?
Thanks.

Transferred from what? The settings of your physical PC are not relevant to a simulation of one.Steviebone wrote: None of the adapter settings transferred and I had to manually configure the machines host adapter.
If you want to create servers then you should probably be using Bridged Networking.

Thank you. Bridged did the trick. Now to physical server building.
