Hi all,
I work in windows 7! I had problems starting the UBUNTU VM that I had configured after installing VirtualBox-6.1.22-144080-Win :
x64
8000 RAM
32GB SSD
Starting the machine I had the following message (see attached immage), and clicking the black box gave me famous error:
The virtual machine 'Ubuntu' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1). More details may be available in 'C:\Users\Fernando\VirtualBox VMs\Ubuntu\Logs\VBoxHardening.log'.
Código resultado: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Componente: MachineWrap
Interfaz: IMachine {85632c68-b5bb-4316-a900-5eb28d3413df}
I tired all the troubleshootings online (Starting uncoupled, the Hyper-V with command turn off, reinstalling, etc). The only thing that worked is cleaning all VirtualBox or Vbox, related files with REGEDIT., and...... I get to have a VM...
I did what I had to do... but then...
I turned off the computer for the night... When I turned it back again and starting the UBUNTU VM... the same errors appeared again¨!
I do not know what to do guys, I do not want to uninstall and go to the "regedit" again, cause I do not want to loose what I had in my VM...
Does someone expert (I am a complete beginner) know some work around to overcome these errors?
Many, many, many thanks in advance.

Zip and post the hardening log indicated in the error dialog.
And note that Windows 7 is not a supported host OS for VirtualBox 6.1.x. That doesn't mean it's guaranteed to fail, but it does mean that interest in any such failure will be limited. You should definitely consider using a supported OS, or stick with VirtualBox 6.0.x.

Many thanks for your quick reply @mpack, sir!
I attach the log file in zip.
Regarding the Windows7... I also tried with 6.0 vs of VirtualBox in my multiple re-installings, but had the same issue.
Many thanks guys for your help.
Best,

Re: UBUNTU VIRTUAL BOX CRASHES after first host system restart
Uninstall Trusteer Rapport, reboot, and try Virtualbox again.

@Scottgus1, sir, you are a genius! It worked!scottgus1 wrote:Uninstall Trusteer Rapport, reboot, and try Virtualbox again.
So how did you realised by that log that it was this element the one impeding the VM to work?
Cheers!!!

Re: UBUNTU VIRTUAL BOX CRASHES after first host system restart
I have a reader script that is pre-loaded with all the normal DLLs that exist in a plain-vanilla C:\Windows folder, and it runs through the log file looking for DLLs not in the list. Also, I look for the text "err", which fits with various errors in the log, some of which are important.
Also, the forum gurus pegged Trusteer Rapport as a problem some time ago. Here is some info on it:
Virtualbox problem with Trusteer Rapport
IBM's workaround
IBM's solution
a script to implement IBM's solution
This log showed Trusteer Rapport's presence.
If you must have it installed, maybe one of the above might help, or run Trusteer Rapport in a VM, not on the host.

Re: UBUNTU VIRTUAL BOX CRASHES after first host system restart
Thanks a lot, sir! What you did saved me from the pain of hitting my head against the wall again!
I will have a look. I do not need Trusteer Rapport anymore I think.
So for me this one is solve!
Best.
