This error can be ignored:
The following error is from the OS, not Virtualbox. You'll have to use the OS's help channels to fix this one:
It is a bug in Linux's driver for the VMSVGA virtual video card. The VM continues to boot if it has no other problems.JamesLin wrote:drm:vmw_host_log [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to send host log message

The Virtualbox environment is continuing to run correctly, but the OS installed in the VM has problems, probably because of the failed save-state you got around here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=103162JamesLin wrote:Give root password for maintenance

You may have broken something byscottgus1 wrote:You'll have to use the OS's help channels to fix this one:
Random thrashing does not often help, rather it hurts. It is better, especially after getting on the forum to ask for help, to stop and wait for the help to arrive.JamesLin wrote:removing some options in setting.

We cannot tell what was damaged in this VM. You may have to start over.
Re: drm:vmw_host_log [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to send host log message
I even restored last working snapshot but it still gives me maintenance mode.
Is there bug in recent VirtualBox? or is this induce by Windows update?

One thing the logs in your other post showed, Hyper-V is enabled. See HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active). Windows updates can turn on Hyper-V.

Re: drm:vmw_host_log [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to send host log message
The messages are persisting since 2019,
The message "*ERROR* Failed to send host log message" from vmwgfx can be safely ignored, and seems to have no side-effects, can we just remove it already? Can I help?

Re: drm:vmw_host_log [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to send host log message
Why are you asking that here? The VirtualBox devs don't determine what messages are output by some random Linux distro.janwilmans wrote: The message "*ERROR* Failed to send host log message" from vmwgfx can be safely ignored, and seems to have no side-effects, can we just remove it already?
