All, I followed the procedure https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... tall-win10 to enable WSL 2.0 on my machine, and it initially LOOKED like I could start Virtualbox VM's, but when I tried this morning, it was a pretty abject failure. I got a guru meditation error and this log. It looks like a virtualization thing in that it seems to claim vt-x isn't enabled, but this makes no sense as WSL2 requires it.
Do I need to downgrade /remove WSL 2 to get VB to work?

Yes. Running Virtualbox on top of Hyper-V ain't all there yet. See HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).Tronmch2 wrote:Do I need to downgrade /remove WSL 2 to get VB to work?
