VM hanging (black screen) on startup. Not Hyper-V or 3-D acceleration issue
My VM is hanging on startup with a black screen and the text cursor endlessly blinking. I had a similar issue months ago when Hyper-V was enabled. I have checked and this is not a Hyper-V issue. It is disabled and is no Hyper-V services are running in Services. Additionally 3-D Acceleration is not checked. Nothing sticks out to the logs to me but I have attached them.

I don't see anything odd in the log. Ubuntu is known to go black-screen if the disk runs out of space. Web-search how to log on text-only and test the available disk space.

Another common cause is to provide insufficient video memory to the VM. In the VM configuration, set Display > Screen > Video Memory to 128 MB.

It turned out being the disk running out of space. I appreciate the tip
