Newest VB (older one too) has network adapters they don't exist anymore

hi there

apple and edimax device for e.g. does not exist anymore... vbox host-only adapters is only one (1) too - not two of them.

why that?!

It seems that Vbox keeps "old" entries in the list as long as they are still referenced by a guest configuration (or an older snapshot of a guest).

no, i deleted all other VMs before installed a new one with Debian 10...

but thank you anyway.

I don't know the answer to this one, but were these devices ever attached to your PC before? If so the host OS may be reporting them to Virtualbox as possible adapters to use. You might have to web-search for your host OS on how to purge old records of network adapters.

FWIW, VirtualBox uses network interface enumeration functions provided by the host OS to populate this dialog.

OK, thank you very much. Will look for hidden (disconnected, maybe USB) devices in the windows device manager...
