I have a VM ubuntu on Windows server 2008 R2 with Virtualbox 5.0.14
Network is bridged mode with DHCP.

I can ping from VM to router and from another pc on network to VM.

I bought a new server (hp ml350 gen10).
I installed Virtualbox 6.1.18, copy vmfiles, launch VM, install guest additions 6.1.18 but i can't ping. VM isn't in my network.

What can I do?

Ty

Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log and the hardening log next to it, zip them, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Also, right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. Zip the VM's .vbox file (not the .vbox-prev file), and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab. (Configure your host OS to show all extensions if the folder that opens does not show a .vbox file.)

Finally, please provide 'ip address' or 'ifconfig' or 'ipconfig /all' as appropriate for host and VM OS.

Attach images locally, not using IMG tags - which have been disabled by the forum for security reasons (offsite images can be substituted with images we'd rather not have on display here).

Your VM is Bridged to the "HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 369i Adapter", and the virtual "cable" is connected.

However, the VM's eth0 adapter is not getting an ipv4 IP address. We don't have an 'ipconfig /all' from the Server 2016 host. Can you please provide that?

Aaaaaaaaaarh i found the problem.

Ethernet cable is on port 1 but windows identify it with HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 369i Adapter #4.
I saw it on ipconfig /all.

Changed this parameter in Virtualbox and everything works!

Ty!
