Kernel Panic for 5.10 and more I guess

Post by manubis_sanchez »

Hello,

I use Virtualbox 6.1.18.
For my studies I installed Vagrant and since that I can't boot on Linux Guest like Ubuntu 20.10/21.04 or Fedora 33 or 34... but it's ok with Ubuntu 19.10 for exemple.
I uninstalled Vagrant + Virtualbox and re-install virtualbox only but same issue.
I obtain ""Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt". I tried to change the chipset without effect.

My host is Win10 with AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with virtualization actived and 16Go of RAM.

Someone can help me, please ? Thanks.

Please right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log.

Search the far left tab's log for this text:

Attempting fall back to NEM

If you find it, Hyper-V is enabled and needs to be disabled. See HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).

If you don't find that text, save the far left tab's log, zip the log file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Thank you ! It was that and all it's working now :D

I don't know why Hyper-V activated recently... I thought it was related to Vagrant but maybe it's my WSL2/Docker installation a little bit older.

Thank you again and sorry for choosing the wrong sub-forum.

Glad you're up and running!

Both turn on Hyper-V, so these are probably your primary perps.
