Hi.
I have done a fresh install of VirtualBox (VirtualBox-6.1.16-140961-Win) on windows 10.
I also have WSL2 installed using Ubuntu.
I have a Manjaro live ISO and Linux Mint live ISO. I have checked the SHA1 and both are correct.
I get to the boot menu for both ISO's. Selecting install on either then gives me a Black Screen with flashing cursor (top left). I get no further progress.
I did get slightly further (some text echoed to the console) with the Linux Mint install using 'Compatibility Mode' but it just locked up after a few seconds.
I have tried various settings but none seen to have any impact.
I gather it might be to do with Hyper-V but I believe I need that for WSL so I am reluctant to disable it.
Can you please help.

Re: Locks up Installing ANY Linux Live ISO
Hyper-V does interfere with Virtualbox so far, and WSL2 (not the original WSL) uses Hyper-V.daviessd wrote:I also have WSL2 installed using Ubuntu.

For now it's Hyper-V/WSL2 or no-Hyper-V/Virtualbox/WSL. See I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests posts 2 & 3, and HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).

Ok
Thanks for the info. I will consider dumping WSL2 and just use Linux in VirtualBox.
I have some development investment in WSL2 that will take some work to port to a Linux VM
