Constant Aborts

Post by Muton »

Hi,

I have a VB7 running on a windows 11. Trying to run windows 10 virtual machine. System installs fine, but then frequently aborts. Originally started around 2 weeks ago (ran fine for at least 3 months), since then I have it set to 8GB RAM (from 4GB) and 4CPU's (from 2). I have also tried enabling hardware acceleration and reinstalled system on VM. I am not trying to run anything weird on this VM, just office apps and remote desktop really.
Logs attached. I will be grateful for help. Thanks.

00:00:02.757289 VirtualBox VM 7.0.2 r154219 win.amd64 (Oct 19 2022 21:29:26) release log
00:00:02.817330 Installed Extension Packs:
00:00:02.817340 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack (Version: 7.0.6 r155176; VRDE Module: VBoxVRDP; Crypto Module: VBoxPuelCrypto)
00:00:09.072284 VMMDev: Guest Additions information report: Version 7.0.2 r154219 '7.0.2'
Mismatched Extension Pack, early, buggy version of 7.0
00:00:02.948293 HM: HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available
00:00:02.978497 NEM: WHvCapabilityCodeHypervisorPresent is TRUE, so this might work...
00:00:02.948024 NumCPUs <integer> = 0x0000000000000004 (4)
Maybe too many processors in the VM while the Hyper-V hypervisor is enabled in the Windows host OS.

Please upgrade to 7.0.6 Virtualbox, Extension Pack if used, and Guest Additions.

If this does not get a stable VM, and you have 3D acceleration turned on, try running the VM with 3D acceleration turned off. If that stabilizes the VM, please note that this happened.

If the VM does not stabilize with 7.0.6 and 3D acceleration enabled, please create a ticket in the Bugtracker with the problem description, the manufacturer and model of the host PC's graphics card, the graphics driver version (on the host OS), and a (zipped) VBox.log file.

Also, consider reducing processor count to two, or disabling host Hyper-V. HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active)

Thanks so much. Seems that version update fixed. Can't believe I didn't try that...
