Linux guests webcam and microphone
When I use the Zorin OS on the VM, to activate webcam and microphone, it seems not to work. On Mint, it did work but it was incredibly slow. What seems to be the issue there?

Split to a separate topic. One issue per thread
Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. In the "Logs" subfolder, zip the VM's "vbox.log", and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab. (Configure your host OS to show all extensions so you can find the "vbox.log", not "vbox.log.1", etc.)

Re: Linux guests webcam and microphone
The Mint VM was save-stated:
Virtualbox and Extension Pack are mismatched:
Webcam passthrough is part of the extension Pack. A mismatched EP might cause webcam troubles. EP should match Virtualbox version.

Here are the attachments with errors addressed. I had to downgrade to Virtual Box 7.0.4 because I was getting the E_FAIL 0X80004005 each time I upgrade extension pack on 7.0.6.scottgus1 wrote:The Mint VM was save-stated:00:01:44.385548 Console: Machine state changed to 'Restoring'*******************scottgus1 wrote:Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state.

Re: Linux guests webcam and microphone
"E_FAIL 0X80004005" is not enough to tell what the problem was. That 'code' is in just about every error Virtualbox ever has had since the beginning of time, and it basically means Oops. Please go back to 7.0.6 on both and report what the error message says.
7.0 is in bug-hunt phase and 7.0.6 will have less bugs than 7.0.4.

I was able to solve the congruency of Virtual Box 7.0.6 and Extension Pack 7.0.6scottgus1 wrote:"E_FAIL 0X80004005" is not enough to tell what the problem was. I needed to gain admin privileges. I do not use a Windows local account as admin. But anyway solved.
I tested to see whether the microphone and webcam works. I have checked the microphone on both Mint and Zorin VMs work but the webcams do not work. Here below are the attachments.

Re: Linux guests webcam and microphone
You'll need to wait for a forum guru experienced with webcams and microphones in the VM. I don't know enough personally about what to look for in the logs. But at least you have the Virtualbox and Extension Pack versions matched, that's good.
Keep in mind we're all Virtualbox users here, no one is an Oracle employee except for the posters that have "Oracle" in their description.

That's fine. It's okay. I'll just wait and continue to test things out
