VM Crash on Windows 10 Host, when USB-Bridge gets added

Post by kssssonator »

Hi,

I first tried the search but couldn't find something helpful.

I'm fairly new to virtualisation and tried an online tutorial via virtual box vm, setup via vagrant. Now I have a problem, I need the host to pass through an USB-Bluetooth Connector which I inserted in the only USB-Slot my Surface has.

Because I cannot see the USB-Connector via lsusb, I try to bridge it via virtual box' GUI. After a few seconds, it gets stated as aborted.
I added a Screenshot with the Result Code, it says:
E_FAIL (0X80004005)
Component: Session Machine
Interface: ISession {someID}

Also I uploaded the 1 of 3 GUI Logs of the Aborted Session. Maybe somebody can tell me what is wrong about it. The others are zipped up because they're too big.

Kind Regards

Thanks for the posted info.

Carefully go through USB basics and troubleshooting. If you finish all the steps 1-7 and cannot get your USB device into the guest OS, carefully post the outputs of the commands in step 8 as text, not screenshots. Zip and post the logs step 8 call for, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
