VB 6.1.34 slow to start LM guest with Hyper-V enabled. 6.1.30 okay.
VB 6.1.34 slow to start LM guest with Hyper-V enabled. 6.1.30 okay.
The following is the start time for Linux Mint to show the LM icon on the guest screen on my PC for various VB versions in the able:
VB Version Boot Time (MM:SS)
6.1.30 1:05
6.1.32 3:13
6.1.34 3:01
These are with Hyper-V enabled. With Hyper-V disabled 6.1.34 starts LM in 45 seconds.
Back to 6.1.30 for me as I need Hyper-V in order to use WSL2.

Ditto for me. Trying to start a RedHat guest on a Win11 host. VB 6.1.30 was that last working version for me.
The Rhel8 gui is unresponsive and task manager reports VB cpu at 25%. I too need to run WSL so two steps back we go.
Grrr!

Word from a forum guru is that the fix the devs are working on for the 6.1.30/32 Hyper-V glitch has not made it into 6.1.34. Stay tuned...

Let us know when it makes it into the test builds so we can test and give feedback if it works or not.
I will not be downloading test builds, unless advised there is a possible Hyper-V fix starting at test version #. The reason is that I have tried allot of test versions in the past and it was a waste of time and I have wasted allot of time on this since 6.1.32 was released.

Please try the VirtualBox test build 6.1.35r140972 6.1.35r150972(or newer) and report back, including a VBox.log file from a complete VM run of several minutes if possible.

I created an account only to say that VirtualBox test build 6.1.35r1509272 fixed all the issues I was experimenting (extreme slowness and very frequent hangs) with a Windows 7 64-bit machine installed on a Windows 11 64-bit host with an Intel 12th gen CPU. I haven't been able to install the most recent 'Guest Additions' and 'Extension Pack' test builds, due to a couple of errors, but now my VM is fully usable. Thank you!

Thanks for your positive feedback. A (zipped) VBox.log file would have been nice.

Thanks for the (zipped) VBox.log file, and also thanks for letting the VM run for several minutes (hours in your case). This made it possible to verify that your VM didn't lag behind any more.

You're welcome! Everything is working really well now. I wasn't able to install the most updated 'Guest Additions' and 'Extension Pack' test builds but it's not critical and I think the next update to a stable version will fix it.

6.1.34 3:01
6.1.35 r150972 0:52
So 6.1.35 r150972 is good.
