VCPU0: Guru Meditation 1155 (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT)
Trying to run 64-bit Oracle Linux 7 for the first time and got Guru Meditation error before VM finishes booting. Hyper-V is enabled as needed by Docker Desktop.

Hyper-V is definitely on. Please try as an experiment what forum guru 'fth0' suggests here about turning off 'Memory Integrity' viewtopic.php?f=1&t=104524#p509767. See if the VM runs, and if Docker can run too, with Hyper-V still enabled, but with 'Memory Integrity' off.
If so, that's the way to roll for now. If not, then it's the usual: Virtualbox will need Hyper-V off, or you'll need to run the Oracle OS in a Hyper-V VM.

No luck with 'Memory Integrity' off (it already was). What do you mean run the Oracle OS in a Hyper-V VM?scottgus1 wrote:Hyper-V is definitely on. I don't think that this advice can help here, because:scottgus1 wrote:Hyper-V is definitely on. Please try as an experiment what forum guru 'fth0' suggests here about turning off 'Memory Integrity'
If Memory integrity (HVCI) is turned on, VirtualBox cannot load its VMMR0.r0 component, leading to an early abort before the VM is really started. A Guru Meditation inside a VM (e.g. VPU<n>) can only occur after the VM has been started.

Thanks for the clarification, fth0! And thanks for trying, Ben! 'Twas a stab in the dark....
Alternatively, your 10 is version 1809, which is a bit old. Some more modern 10 users have been able to run Virtualbox and Hyper-V together. You might try a 2020 or 2021 release of Windows (on a different host disk) and see if Virtualbox can run under Hyper-V.
On Pro & greater Windows 10 hosts, Hyper-V can run virtual machines. If you are using Pro, and you have to use Docker and therefore must run Hyper-V, Hyper-V's VMs are a different option than Virtualbox.ben_b_work wrote:What do you mean run the Oracle OS in a Hyper-V VM?
