Application cut off in Scaled mode

Postby chowder » 24. Oct 2021, 03:40

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue in scaled mode running Windows 10 21H1 enterprise guest using VirtualBox 6.1.26 r145957 on a Windows 10.0.019041 physical computer.

Visual Studio is cut off in the horizontal direction of my guest's screen when in scaled mode. resizing the guest window in Scaled mode does not help. The same occurs in full screen mode or windowed mode.

Any tips, suggestions for further research, or other inquiries?

If the same cut-off occurs in full screen mode or windowed mode, why the special consideration of scaled mode?

Does only Visual Studio do this? Or do other programs do it too? Please post a screenshot of Visual Studio being split, and also show Notepad open at the same time, with the Notepad window crossing the split line of Visual Studio, so we can see the issue. Crop and resize the picture to get under the forum's 128kB size limit yet remain legible, then post the picture file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Also, Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log and the hardening log next to it, zip them, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
