Failed to start VM.

Post by vmissue »

OS: Win 10
Vagrant Version: 2.1.2
VM Version: 5.2.14

This is my new laptop with win 10 installed. VM used to run great on my previous laptop. But in this new laptop I'm facing the issue below. I've been googling this stuff and try some suggestions but no luck. I've also attached the logs file. Can somebody please tell me what would be wrong. I appreciate it.

ERROR on VM:

The virtual machine has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1)

Forcepoint Endpoint DLP is the likely culprit. Add an exception for VirtualBox, if it allows it.

That didn't work. I completely disabled the endpoint but the issue remains the same. :(

Remove it and attach a new zipped hardening log, if it still doesn't work.

You mean completely uninstall endpoint? Do you see any difference between disabling and uninstalling? I'm making sure because uninstalling it is not easy here since it's a corporate device.

Thank you, that was the issue, I excluded virutalbox inside forcepoint, initially I was not excluding all virtualbox files which is why I was getting errors. Now it completely solved. :D
