Error 0x00065aec

Post by Mark81 »

Since few days I get the error 0x00065aec when opening any of my vms.
This happens also with the latest update. Rebooting the PC (Windows 7 HP SP1 64-bit) allows me to run a virtual machine. But if I try to start a second one the error comes up again.

I didn't find anything about this error!

I attach the VBoxHardening.log.

Update of what?

Run carefully through this tutorial first: Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues

You seem to be running Malwarebytes as your AV suite. When the tutorial suggests disabling your AV, after actually trying the guests with the AV disabled, you could try setting an exception in Malwarebytes for any Virtualbox-related folders. Or you may have to uninstall it altogether as a test to see if the Malwarebytes is temporarily interfering.

I completely uninstalled MBAM.
I also did what your link suggests but nothing has changed.

What should I do now?
And what does that error code mean?

The FAQ that scottgus1 linked to explains the situation really well; some process is trying to inject itself in VirtualBox, and it lacks the appropriate credentials.

You have to figure out what that process might be.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
