After selecting an usb device in the device > usb menu, the usb device dispear

Hello,

i have a very annoying bug, after i select an usb device in the device > usb menu, the usb device dispear!
not always sometime it's work (need to plug unplug several time the usb), and sometime it's not work at all.

i have the problem on windows host + windows guest and windows host + osx guest

any idea / workaround for this ?

There is no such thing as a "Windows Guest". Please be specific. Assuming the device and/or port is USB3 then make sure the guest OS has USB3 support, e.g. XP does not, nor does Win7.

USB3 is not working at all, USB2 is working but sometime freeze, so i use only USB1.

As guest system i use mostly OSX for now and windows 8 as host.

when their is 2 or 3 simultaneous virtualbox running, it's close to never work ( After selecting an usb device in the device > usb menu, the usb device ALWAYS dispear ), when it's only one virtualbox running it's work better (but not 100%)
