Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
Hello, x64 windows 7 host with vista 64 guest.
Using latest version of filezilla (same happened with last 3 or 4 versions at least)
Since virtualbox 3.xx (3.0.4, 3.0.8 at least) filezila works....BUT...... 99% of times crashes the virtual machine!! (GUI error and closes)
3.0.4 and now also 3.0.8.......any ideas?!
Thanks!

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
Hi
I'm having the same problem by the looks of it.
Filezilla copies a 100 or so files over and then VirtualBox crashes.

Same issue.
Windows 7 64bit host
Fedora 11 guest
Filezilla ftp transfers through NAT
Reliably crashes VirtualBox GUI

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
This issue also sometimes uninstalls the VirtualBox Guest Additions which must be reinstalled to regain functionality provided by Guest Additions.
Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
Pse issue a ticket on bugtracker and add logfiles.

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
Just installed the latest version of Virtualbox.
Problem with FTP transfer still exists in this version for me.

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
What is the difference between a home server and an ftp server? I understand how an ftp server can be used to access your files from home, when you at the office, or vice-versa, but what is the difference between that and a home server?

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
Do you use bridged or NAT networking in VM?

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
Just adding confirmation of the problem
Win XP x64 host
Win XP x64 guest
Filezilla 3.3.0.1 and FireFTP 1.06 (Firefox 3.5.5 add-on) both exhibit the same issue; will transfer some files (sometimes over 200, sometimes 5) and then guest aborts. Same set-up on host works without issue.

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
I'm using NAT in answer to the above question.
Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
You have to use Bridge for ftp to work reliably and speedy.

Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
vbox4me2: anyway it should not crash VM or VBox.
Re: Copy from FTP crashes (abort) guest
No but there is a difference between limits of a function and a bug
