VERR_SSM_LOADED_TOO_LITTLE

Nach Installation einer neuen Version der Virtual Box unter Mac kann diese nicht gestartet werden: restoring virtual machine funktioniert nicht, es erscheint folgende Fehlermeldung:

Failed to load unit 'usb-ehci' (VERR_SSM_LOADED_TOO_LITTLE)
Fehlercode: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Komponente: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

Kann mir jemand helfen und weiß, was ich tun muss, um die VM mit den alten Daten und Programmen in Gang zu kriegen?

Answering in English:

This error is caused by upgrading VirtualBox while you have VMs suspended (saved state). Saved state information records the state of currently running programs and so is not necessarily portable if the programs are changed.

The simplest solution is to choose "Discard saved state" from the right-click menu in the VM manager. The VM will behave as a physical PC would after a power cut. The only other solution is to restore the older VirtualBox version, shut down the VMs properly, then upgrade VirtualBox again. Obviously that would take a great deal more time.

I managed to open the program without the windows interface working. For data recovery, it is enough. Next step will be to restore the older version.
