Hallo,
habe eine VHD erstellt und als "dynamisch" deklariert.
Nun habe ich Daten dorthin kopiert und .......
100GB erreicht - VOLL!!!
Was habe ich falsch gemacht oder falsch verstanden???

Dynamic means it starts out small and gets bigger up to the size chosen. So your drive began as a couple megabytes in size, then will expand to the set 100GB.TOM_M wrote:100GB erreicht - VOLL!!!
You can make the drive bigger, see How to resize a Virtual Drive.
However, VHD has a very bad problem. There is a design flaw in the VHD format that will kill all the data in the disk file if the host has a glitch while the dynamic VHD is expanding to take in more data. It is better to use other drive file formats such as VDI or VMDK, instead of VHD, for dynamic drive files. A static VHD is also OK. But Static drive files of any format cannot be resized.
One other thing: If you chose VHD because the VM's OS is a Windows OS, that's not necessary. The drive file format does not have to match the VM's installed OS in any way.
