Hallo
In Virtualbox unter Linux habe ich wegen einem nur für Windows erhältlichen Programm eine virtuelle Maschine mit Windows 10 erstellt. Mit diesem Programm würde ich gerne eine Datei auf einer externen Festplatte speichern. Die externe Festplatte ist aber mit einem Linux-Dateisystem formatiert mit dem Windows 10 nichts anfangen kann.
Kann eine virtuelle Maschine mit Windows 10 Gastsystem über das Linux Hostsystem schreibend auf die externe Festplatte mit Linux-Dateisystem zugreifen?

If you share a folder on the external drive in the Linux host, then access the shared folder in the Windows VM, Windows should be able to write to the external drive.
If you pass the external drive into the Windows VM with a Virtualbox USB filter, so only Windows can access it and not the host OS, then Windows would not be able to write to the drive, unless you provided drivers that enable windows to write to the drive's Linux file system.

Thank you. Shared folders seem to be what I need to have write access to a Linux file system with a Windows guest system without a proper file system driver.
