VM kaputt?

Post by Rickyboi123 »

Hallo.

Parent medium with UUID -zensiert- of the medium 'C:\Users\Laptop\Desktop\Alte VMWare VDI und Snapshots\..vdi' is not found in the media registry ('C:\Users\Laptop\.VirtualBox\VirtualBox.xml').
Fehlercode: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Komponente: MediumWrap
Interface: IMedium -zensiert-
Callee: IVirtualBox -zensiert-
Callee RC: VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)

There are a few things that have gone wrong. This information will help you in the future.

Deleting things is not good until you know what you're deleting.

Editing the error message can cause us to not be able to help. Please don't edit things. FWIW that is a virtual UUID and cannot possibly be used to hack into your PC.

It appears you deleted part of the snapshot disk chain for your VM. Snapshots are not individual stand-alone files. Each file is needed to run the VM.

Unless you can restore the file you deleted, this VM is truly kaput.

You may be able to restore part of the VM if you did not delete the first disk in the chain. See Mpack's CloneVDI. This program can make a new single-disk clone of a snapshot chain, starting from the base disk to the last available file in a complete chain. Read the instructions carefully, and get a local friend to help you if you have trouble understanding them.
