Shared clipboard not working in FreeBSD 12.1 host + Manjaro 19.0.2 guest

Hi,

I am running a FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE host on an amd64 system. I have VirtualBox 5.2.34 installed on my host.

I am running a Manjaro 19.0.2 guest in VirtualBox. I have the following relevant packages installed in my Manjaro guest :

linux54-headers 5.4.24-1
linux54-virtualbox-guest-modules 6.1.4-4
virtualbox-guest-dkms 6.1.4-2
virtualbox-guest-utils 6.1.4-2

Bidirectional shared clipboard is enabled in the VM settings in VirtualBox. But I am unable to copy/paste between the FreeBSD guest and Manjaro guest.

What could possibly be wrong and how do I fix the issue ?

I'm really fuzzy on any helpful details, but I have read that Shared Clipboard in a Linux guest requires an X session (I think that's what it's called? I'm a Windows guy.) Do you have a normal Linux desktop running in the guest?

Also, check out https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01. ... tossupport and https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch03. ... tossupport. If your host or guest OS isn't on the list, some basic things may not work.

My Linux guest boots into X (XFCE to be precise).

I have been using VirtualBox for 2 years+ with the same setup (host = FreeBSD; guest = Linux). Bidirectional copy/paste has never been a problem. This is the first time VirtualBox is giving problems.

Hi, I have the same issue here :

VirtualBox irtuv6.1.4 r136177 (Qt5.6.2)
Guest additions installed
Host : Windows 10 Pro 1803
Guest : CentOS 7 (same issue with KDE or Gnome)

I've enabled the bidirectional clipboard but it doesn't work from one side nor other side.
Seems to be VirtualBox version related.

Any help would be appreciated
