write a file on DOS 6.22

Post by jupitersaturn »

hello all.

I did install DOS 6.22 and it works fine.
But it is of no use for me because I can not write files.
What must I do that I can write files?

I am new to computers.
So please tell me step for step.

Thank you

Matthias

I assume you mean "how do I copy files into the DOS VM?".

You do it by installing the data CD driver in DOS and then copying files in from ISO images of CDs.

Even more conveniently, use the new "ad-hoc ISO" (.viso) feature in VirtualBox. This treats a host folder as the content of an ISO. Check out the Devices menu when the VM is running, and go for "Choose/Create a disk image" (you'll be creating, if you didn't already create the .viso file in an earlier session).
