Hey jparen THANKS for that Tip. I tried and it works:
Host Vista x64, guest PCBSD 7.0.1 x64. VBox 2.0.6
But it looks nasty in 16 bits. For startes in VBox you can't use eye candy like transparencys, etc, and 16 bits ....well, arrrrrggghhh !!!
But it will let me test some things.
Lets hope Sun REALLY gets into virtualization and polishes some things. My wish list:
1. Shared folders that work on x64 Linuxes and Open Solaris
2. Some Eye candy for linuxes guests (to be abel to use special effects on desktops)
3. Get PCBSD really supported with additions and all
Has anyone tried PCBSD??
Getting PC-BSD to Start in VB
Installed PC-BSD 7.0.1
In screen setup, change from 24bit to 16bit. Xserver starts.

Re: Has anyone tried PCBSD??
Yes have tested XP host 32bit, VBox 3.0.4 r50677 - Guest PC-BSD 7.1.1-x86-DVD ver.
based on FreeBSD 7, it works fine for me, so sound has a little bug.
For complete installation from DVD image set minimum a 10 Gigabyte harddrive and more sys-ram as default, other way install fails.
Resolution must be self changed via VBoxManage command, then start press 7 for display setup and change, or check posts in this forum.
Hope this may help for those that will try.

Re: Has anyone tried PCBSD??
I installed PCBSD 7.1.1 in VB 2.2.4, and it installed fine... except I can't get the internet connection to work. The tray icon says it's connected and it gives me the right numbers, but nothing actually gets to the network. I've tried reconfiguring. Are there any magic words I can say? I'm a Linux person and I'd love to check out PC-BSD but this kinda puts a damper on things.

Well, Lumizil, I dunno how you knew to do that, but it got me on the air!! Thanks. That's nowhere near the name of my card, but whatever works! Now if I can find a way to make this VB window a little larger, I'll be in business.
