Android 6 stays in text mode
Hello.
I try to run x86 version of android 6 on Virtualbox 5.0.24 on Ubuntu host. But it stays in text mode as can be seen from screenshot below. Any ideas what to do?

Re: Android 6 stays in text mode
You are using the version from Ubuntu's software center. Uninstall that one and install the official one from VirtualBox's site (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads).VirtualBox VM 5.0.24_Ubuntu r108355 linux.amd64 (Jul 5 2016 08:17:21) release log
Choose the more specific "Linux 2.6 / 3.x / 4.x (32-bit)" OS type instead of the generic "Linux".00:00:00.433551 Guest OS type: 'Linux'

Re: Android 6 stays in text mode
I'd like to see an updated VBox.log:
- Start the VM. Not from a saved or suspended state. Clean start.
- Take the steps required to generate/observe the error. Pretty much ... boot it up.
- Shut down the VM. Not suspended, not paused. Shut down. If you can't shut it down by normal means, close the VM window and select "Power off".
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager. Select "Show Log..."
- Save it (just the first log), ZIP it and attach it in your response (see the "Upload attachment" at the bottom of the form).
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager. Select "Show in Finder/Explorer/Whatever".
- ZIP the selected ".vbox" file and attach it in your response.

Re: Android 6 stays in text mode
Here are the differences between my setup (6.0rc2) and yours (6.0):
- I don't have PAE enabled, you do.
- I don't have IO/APIC enabled, you do.
- I have X2APIC enabled, you don't. That I guess is due to the fact that X2APIC became the default after 5.1.x. for Linux VMs.
- I have 512 MB of RAM, you have 2048 MB.
- I have 16 MB of VRAM, you have 128 MB.
- I have "USB Tablet", you have "PS/2 Mouse".

Re: Android 6 stays in text mode
Tnx for info. It looks like it was my installation problem (altough I did it according to youtube tutorial exactly). I downloaded this one https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B_HAFnYs ... t=download and it boots up but when I open browser it says "unfortunately, browser has stopped" and it says so for every other app too.

Hmm... Why don't you download it from the official site? http://www.android-x86.org/
The final release is out.

Re: Android 6 stays in text mode
Shall I take the Remix OS? Or is it different thing from Android?

I don't have the slightest idea. Why don't you ask them or do some research?
